Registration of Dogs and Cats Residing in Lynn HavenCity code (Municipal Ordinance 10-42) states that a dog or cat must be registered by his owner within 30 days after the animal reaches five months of age. The city must be provided the name, address, and telephone number of the owner, a description of the dog or cat, a rabies certificate issued by a licensed veterinatian. The city commission, by resolution has set the current license fee schedule as follows:
A resident may benefit by having their animals registered in the event that the animal is picked up for running at large. The animal control officer will be able to identify the animals owner based on the registration number affixed to a tag and attached to the animal's collar. The animal would then be returned to the owner. Another benefit is the waived fee if you decide to participate in the "Pets Forever" program. Anyone wishing to register their dog or cat can contact the Lynn Haven Animal Shelter, 1750 Recreation Drive, 265-4699, Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. .
