Official Holidays

City offices are closed on holidays. The following are observed as official holidays:

• New Year's Day
• Martin Luther King Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Veteran's Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Day after Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Eve or the day after Christmas Day
• Christmas Day

The City Commission is empowered to declare additional holidays.

General Rules

When a holiday falls on Saturday, the preceeding Friday is observed as the holiday. If the holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday is observed.
