City Hall

City HallBuilding & Planning

Plans for the construction of a new City Hall were drawn by Henry T. Hey and approved in 1927 by city officials. The building would house the following:

  • Council chamber
  • Quarters for the Fire Department
  • Tax Collector's office
  • Three jail cells
  • Vault for city records

Prior to this time, rooms at the Lynn Haven Bank served the city functions as well as other locations. At this same time, a new City Charter was redrawn and approved. The building was to be constructed in the "new Spanish Style" popular at the time and was completed in 1928 by the firm of Jacobs and Harrington. A.I. Kline was Mayor at the time.
