Pension Information

The city has three Defined Pensions - General, Fire, and Police. Each pension plan requires a mandatory 5% contribution from full-time or part-time (over 21 hours/week), and potentially provides for a lifetime pension upon reaching an age and years of service requirement. Employees are "vested" in each pension at five (5) years of continuous employment (50% vested) and the vesting continues until fully vested after ten (10) years of continuous employment (100% vested). 

The city also offers a Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP) with each of its pensions.
