Responsibilities

The Finance Review Committee is an advisory body established to provide financial oversight and support sound fiscal management for the City of Lynn Haven. The committee plays an important role in reviewing the City’s financial practices to help ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with the City’s strategic goals. The committee is composed of five members appointed by the City Commission, with each commissioner appointing one member. The Finance Review Committee reviews City matters related to the budget, utility rates, sanitation rates, fee schedules, and both ad valorem and non-ad valorem assessments. Based on its review and analysis, the committee makes recommendations to the City Commission to assist in informed decision-making. By evaluating financial information, policies, and long-term impacts, the Finance Review Committee helps promote responsible stewardship of public resources and supports the City Commission in maintaining the fiscal health of the City of Lynn Haven.
